Marjorie Taylor Greene, an american congresswoman representing Georgia, changed her Twitter profile picture on May 6th. Yes, you’re seeing this right. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s new profile picture for her official representative Twitter account was this: a photo of herself with the glowing eyes effect, and a red filter. This article will tell you everything you need to know about this news beyond satire.
Marjorie Taylor Greene New Twitter Profile Picture: but why?
In case you are not familiar with it, the glowing eyes meme is meant to represent someone going into “super mode”, or increasing their power level.
Recently, a group of voters in Marjorie Taylor Greene’s state of Georgia legally challenged the Congresswoman’s candidacy by claiming that she played a part in the Capitol Insurrection that happened on January 6, 2021.
However, on Friday, May 6, a state administrative judge ruled that the lawyers challenging her candidacy failed to prove her involvement in the insurrection. As such, her candidacy for Congress remains untouched.
MGT first celebrated the decision with this simple tweet:

Then, this was followed by this tweet:

After this, her Twitter profile picture was changed to the picture above. However, you may be confused. As of when this article was posted, her profile picture looks normal. Am I a fraud? Is this fake news? Well, no.
I was as confused as you probably are now. Indeed, her profile picture was the red image for maybe half a day. Certainly less than 24 hours. It could be that someone in her team thought she had to change it. What’s certain is that as of the morning of May 7th (US time), Marjorie Taylor Greene’s profile picture is back to normal.
If you want to check for yourself, you may use the Wayback Machine. Indeed, a capture of her Twitter profile from May 7th shows that the image above was indeed her profile picture. Otherwise, I may have thought that I hallucinated the whole thing. The screenshot of this capture is at the top of the article.
Although this was really surreal to see, the recent Supreme Court leak is still the most important news in US politics as of right now.
